Can babies make sounds within the womb?
I know this might seem like a really lame question, but I’m just curious if their vocal chords work and if they are able to cry or anything while still in the womb. When my mom was pregnant with my brothers last year I could swear that I sometimes heard soft noises, like gurgling sounds, and it didn’t sound like a tummy rumble or anything like that.
Sorry if this is totally dumb. I just don’t remember ever covering this in school & I’m curious.

Actually, they can cry in the womb if they are way overdue, it isn’t common at all though. Extremely rare.
